Ubuntu TV Hadir di 2012 International CES

Smart TV makin menjadi tren. Hal ini ditunjang dengan kehadiran sejumlah merek dan sistem operasi untuk Smart TV. Sistem operasi Ubuntu TV yang dikembangkan oleh Canonical bisa disaksikan pada 2012 International CES di Las Vegas, Nevada, Amerika Serikat.

Canonical, sebuah perusahaan yang turut mengembangkan Ubuntu TV mengungkapkan bahwa Linux Ubuntu merupakan kunci bagi konektivitas di sebuah televisi generasi masa depan, memadukan berbagi keuntungan dari banyak perangkat menjadi sebuah pengalaman yang sederhana saat menikmati hiburan secara terintegrasi. "Kami memfokuskan untuk membuat televisi yang intuitif, dan bisa bermanfaat lagi, dengan interface tunggal dan sederhana," kata Jane Silber, CEO Canonical.

Ubuntu TV memiliki fitur kesatuan user interface yang lebih sederhana dan memberikan pengalaman menikmati hiburan di televisi secara terintegrasi antara layanan televisi via satelit, kabel, dan broadcast pada umumnya. Ubuntu TV juga menghadirkan pengalaman televisi secara modern dengan kehadiran fitur pencarian, nonton, rekam dan putar. Hal lain adalah kemampuan berbagi layar dengan peranti berbasis sistem operasi iOS, Android dan Ubuntu melalui software yang telah terpasang.
Canonical juga menyediakan layanan Ubuntu One, sebuah jasa personal cloud, bagi pengguna software di peranti iOS, Android, Ubuntu, agar bisa tetap menikmati konten digital seperti program televisi, musik, video dan foto.

The Five Eyes - Intelligence Alliance

 The Five Eyes intelligence alliance is a secretive coalition and surveillance arrangement of countries internationally which include the United States National Security Agency (NSA), Canada’s Communications Security Establishment Canada (CSEC), the United Kingdom’s Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ), New Zealand’s Government Communications Security Bureau (GCSB) and the Australian Signals Directorate (ASD). A series of bilateral agreements were developed in the beginning of 1946 by an alliance of five English-speaking countries over a period of time and became to known as the UKUSA agreement. This agreement established the Five Eyes alliance to share intelligence especially signals intelligence (SIGINT).
